Step #1: For each and every professional photography session, we begin with an initial consultation.

This allows us to better understand your desired outcome. We work with clients as individuals with individual professional photography needs. The initial consultation helps us eliminate surprises, ensure quality, guarantee your satisfaction and save time. This initial consultation involves lots of questions.

We ask many questions to get to the heart of your expectations.

We want to understand what types of images you like so we can do our best to meet your specific photography style. Our consultation also involves conversation and discussion. We spend time discussing backgrounds, off site locations, candids and posed photos.

We talk about issues such as black and white versus color. We’ll also discuss touch ups or photo enhancements that can be done on the back end to create the very best, most flattering photograph possible.

Sometimes people are unsure of what they need or are unfamiliar with what options they have with individual, family, business or event photos.

We provide recommendations about colors, style of outfit and offer makeup and hair suggestions for the day of the photo shoot so everyone is well prepared to make the most of the experience.

Some types of photos involve more in-depth or extensive initial consultations. Weddings and many maternity photos involve special considerations that require more detailed consultations.

Indepth wedding consultations for couples and families…

Weddings inevitably involve family dynamics that affect the images couples want to have of their special day. We ask couples to fill out a detailed questionnaire as part of their initial consultation.

We’ll talk openly about any family dynamics that we should be aware of so your wedding photography goes smoothly and is a huge success.

We would prefer to have as much detail as possible about family members and friends involved in your wedding so we can preserve memories everyone will treasure.

The questionnaire you’ll complete we help both of us prepare for your wedding photos. The responses you provide will help us generate a list of the top 20 shots we ensure you’ll have, such as the exchanging of vows, the bouquet toss and the cake cutting.

We’ll ask for a list of family members who will stay to participate in your wedding photos. We want to be sure these relatives or friends are notified ahead of time that you’re planning for their participation. This helps ensure everyone is together and ready when it’s time to take your family wedding photos.

Special consultations for expecting mothers and maternity photography…

Maternity photos present a unique opportunity for expecting mothers to preserve a memory of a very special time in their lives.

Simply Good Photography makes the maternity photo experience as personalized and comfortable as possible.

Your consultation and photo shoot can be done in a private setting by a female photographer who understands how you feel about your body at this special time.

In addition to preparing to create your tasteful, beautiful maternity photos, consultations with expectant mothers often involve plans for the future. We can help you plan and arrange future photographs of your new baby, too, so you can be assured a professional photo will be taken for each of the monumental time periods of your baby’s first year of life.

We can plan a set time for you to come in for newborn photos, photos at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year old, show the remarkable growth and development of your baby’s first year.

Your maternity consultation is the perfect time to plan ahead for your child’s first year photos before you’re overwhelmed with new responsibilities as a new parent. You can relax and look forward to capturing your baby’s precious development in a large, personalized “Watch Me Grow” book you and your family will treasure for a lifetime.

We’re flexible about where we meet and are prepared to meet with you on location when appropriate. Whether you’re an engaged couple, an expecting Mom, a professional looking for a business portrait or a high school senior in need of a senior portraits, our unique initail consultation process ensures the best possible professional photos you desire.

Step #2: Our unique portrait session process to create the professional photos of your dreams!

Typically, we ask out clients to plan on a one hour photo session.

• Your session will produce more than 300 photos we then narrow down to about the top 100.

• We then provide these images in an online gallery you can review.

• You choose the top 5 to 25 photos you like the most, and we’ll spend time reworking and retouching them until they look their very best.

• Depending on the photo package you choose, you may opt to own all 25 of these photos, or you may choose only 5. You decide what photos you’d like to own, how many and in what sizes. Typically it takes 2 to 4 weeks for you to receive your final photographs.

Your individualized photographs may involve a special location, your place of business or your family’s home.

It could be you’d like to be photographed outdoors or in a favorite public place. We’re sensitive to the special challenge photo sessions can present for young children, so we may take them outside in a setting where they feel happy and comfortable playing.

Many times, children are best photographed in their natural state in a less confined environment.

Weddings involve many, many more photos than typical photo sessions and usually involve at least a 4 week process. We can arrange private online photo galleries for newlyweds as well as a special public gallery where friends and family members can choose to order their own photos.

Regardless of how big or small your needs are, we will work with you to custom tailor a photo solution that meets your goals and your budget.
